Isiah Bugg began his professional career in 1998, at the age of 18, as an accounting assistant for The Synergy Plan, Ltd. While working as an accounting assistant, Isiah pursued his Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in accounting. Over the course of his studies, Isiah implemented tools learned in college and was promoted at work to staff accountant. He obtained his BA in 2002, and left The Synergy Plan to pursue a career at GE Capital Commercial Finance (GE). Isiah was offered a position with GE as a Portfolio Analyst, where he oversaw asset-based lending. After a short-time with GE, he was offered a more challenging accounting position with The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Isiah left GE to pursue this opportunity, because it provided him with an opportunity to utilize more of his skills. Isiah has always been deemed a hard-worker who seeks both self and professional improvement. After working with RBC for two years, Isiah was recruited by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for an accounting position. Isiah decided to pursue this opportunity, as he has always been intrigued by the real estate industry. He learned a lot working with NAR, but found himself to be unfulfilled by his work. He decided to leave NAR in 2005 to contemplate his next career move.

In 2006, Isiah began working as a substitute teacher in Prairie-Hills School District #144 (PHSD144). During the school year, he also worked as an ISAT coach, math resource specialist, and after school tutor. The following school year, he continued to work with PHSD144, as the 8th grade reading teacher. He worked earnestly to help Prairie-Hills Junior High successfully achieve Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). In 2008, he began working with Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider Orion’s Mind, LLC, as a program manager. He oversaw the delivery and daily operation of Title 1 funded after school tutoring programs in multiple Chicago Public Schools. While working with Orion’s Mind, Isiah also began working with the Boeing Company, as a contracted program manager. While at Boeing, he participated in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives, and represented Boeing in roundtable discussions with Chicago-based nonprofits to fund youth development programs. He also co-created a mentoring program for Boeing employees to mentor CPS students. During the 2009 – 2013 school years, he worked with SES providers Club Z, SES of Illinois, Huntington Learning Center, and Tutor Owl to enroll students into after school tutoring programs. Isiah has contributed to hundreds of Chicago students receiving quality mentoring and tutoring.

Isiah received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Business Administration from Robert Morris University (RMU). He completed the MBA program with a 4.0 grade point average. Isiah was informed by RMU that he graduated in the top 5% of his graduating class, and amongst the top 1% of African-American graduates from RMU’s Morris Graduate School of Management. During his capstone course, he received the prestigious GLO-BUS award for developing, implementing, and executing a competitive strategy. After receiving his MBA in 2013, Isiah returned to education full-time and began substitute teaching in numerous Chicago Charter schools. In the fall of 2015, Isiah returned to RMU to serve as an adjunct professor in the school of business.

After many years of providing support services to Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Charter Schools, and surrounding area suburban school districts, Isiah launched BuggEyes, L.L.C. in July 2015. Isiah was born and raised in Chicago and believes:

It is my duty to combine my business acumen, teaching experience, and passion for education to serve our community.
